No registry, yet possession of multi-crore flats, \u201cIs there a mystery everywhere from the voter list to the registry of the flat?\u201d \u201cDiscrepancies in government records? High-ranking official facing questions.\u201d \u201cSuspicion grows over asset accounts.\u201d \u201cMultiple allegations, yet intact in the same place since 2011 creating history. Under whose blessings?\u201d
Explosive questions are being raised one after another in administrative circles surrounding Akinchan Sarkar, an official of the Tripura Civil Service and Additional Secretary of the Finance Department. Asset declarations, sources of income, possession of flats without registry, multiple names in the voter list\u2014all in all, there is intense discussion within the Secretariat: \u201cBy what power does Akinchan Sarkar remain unscathed despite so many allegations?\u201d
According to government documents, he has shown his annual income from all sources as \u20b920,48,000 in 2024. In 2025, that income is shown as \u20b921,83,000. The total monthly salary is shown as \u20b91,81,960.
But the question arises\u2014
Where is the alignment between this income and the reality of multiple flats, properties, and assets?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the records, there is no significant source of income other than salary. There are no clear details of bank interest, rent, investments, shares, mutual funds, or potential income from property. However, in the opinion of administrative circles, providing such information is mandatory in the asset declaration of government employees.
Even more surprising\u2014
In the \u2018Immovable Property\u2019 declaration, even a mobile phone handset is mentioned, but there is no explanation as to whether there is any income from the flats.
The question arises\u2014
Do the flats remain vacant year after year? Or has the actual financial information been suppressed?
The most controversy has been created by a flat in the Sitai Complex in the Narhe area of Pune. It is claimed in government documents that the flat was purchased in 2021 for only \u20b924,50,000.
But even in the 2025 asset declaration, it is written\u2014
\u201cRegistry not done, in possession.\u201d
That means, for nearly five years, a flat is \u201cin possession\u201d without registry!
Here, legal questions are arising one after another\u2014
How is a property being shown as one’s own year after year without registry?
Have stamp duty and registration fees been paid?
Has the actual transaction amount been concealed?
If full ownership does not exist, how was that property included in the government declaration?
There is also a major discrepancy regarding the price figures. Another flat purchased in 2016 at Barjala, Agartala, is shown at a value of \u20b928 lakhs, the current value of which is \u20b939 lakhs.
Yet, six years later, a flat purchased in a costly city like Pune is shown at a value of only \u20b924,50,000!
A section of the Secretariat asks\u2014
If the Barjala flat is more \u201cexpensive\u201d than the one in Pune, why is there this astonishing gap between the market value and the declared value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It doesn’t end here. Earlier, serious allegations of suppressing information were raised against Akinchan Sarkar. There were allegations that by suppressing information in a case of converting government land into private land, the government was faced with a huge loss of revenue. It is also alleged that the then District Magistrate of Unakoti district had recommended starting a departmental process in that incident.
But the question is\u2014
Why was no action taken even after that report? Under whose shadow does this official remain unscathed despite repeated allegations?
Now even more explosive allegations have come to the fore. Allegations have been raised that the names of Akinchan Sarkar and his wife Sharmistha Ghosh are on the voter lists of two assembly constituencies\u2014Santirbazar and Town Bordowali. The allegation is even more serious\u2014votes have been cast in both places.
If this allegation is proven true, then it is not just administrative negligence\u2014direct allegations of violating electoral laws may arise.
According to Sections 17 and 18 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, it is illegal for a person’s name to be included in more than one electoral area. At the same time, voting in multiple centers can fall under electoral offenses.
Now questions are being raised\u2014
When the administration takes strict action even for minor documentary errors in the case of an ordinary citizen, why the silence in the case of a high-ranking official? The allegation of voting in two centers has been raised by the public, but Duranta TV did not verify its authenticity at that time.
What was the Election Department doing all this time if names existed in two centers?
If the allegations are true, why has no investigation started so long?
Is there any \u201cspecial protection shield\u201d working within the administration where the law does not take effect even if allegations are raised against certain officers?
What is the mystery of surviving in an important department within the same circle of influence since 2011?
There is now intense discussion in the Secretariat\u2014
For the sake of a transparent and neutral investigation, Akinchan Sarkar should be immediately removed from his important post. If necessary, he should be temporarily suspended and all information regarding the source of assets, bank transactions, tax records, voter lists, actual market value of properties, and registration should be scrutinized.
Because the question now is not just about one officer\u2014
The question is about the credibility of the administration, electoral transparency, and the equal application of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
